Henry and Clare's passionate love affair endures across a sea of time and captures the two lovers in an impossibly romantic trap, and it is Audrey Niffenegger's cinematic storytelling that makes the novel's unconventional chronology so vibrantly triumphant. after I read this my book club pick this one month when I wasn't there to warn them. They also were equally unpleasantly surprised at the content. Easily a hard R rating, if not NC-17. If you want to enjoy this story, see the PG-13 movie. It's very good. |

The concept and plot of this book are intriguing, but there is quite a bit of conversational profanity, and 3 graphic sex scenes. I would be uncomfortable having anyone reading over my shoulder, or passing this book along without warning them. The movie was PG-13 but the book gets a definite strong R. I would not read it again. |
